Affordability and Social Equity We have to contin Affordability and Social Equity

We have to continue improving how we engage, include, and support residents throughout HRM. We also must recognize the historical injustices faced by Black, Indigenous, People of Colour, members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community, people living with disabilities and other historically marginalized groups. It is crucial that we support these communities by addressing anti-Black racism, commit to reconciliation and make sure all residents are included.

We must strengthen HRM’s role when it comes to housing. Affordability is just one aspect of ensuring equitable opportunity and access for all. As we continue to shift the way we live due to issues brought on by COVID-19 and climate change, we must ensure that individuals, families and businesses are able to get the support they need to thrive.

🏡RESPONSIBLE GROWTH🏡 Ensuring all residents 🏡RESPONSIBLE GROWTH🏡

Ensuring all residents feel they are included in the growth we are seeing throughout our city is important to me. I will continue to support all voices by making sure input from residents remains a valuable part of our decision making process.

Ensuring that environmental issues continue to be at the forefront of decision making for HRM is also a priority of mine. We must continue to prioritize addressing climate change and championing environmental stewardship to protect our communities and spaces that make HRM a wonderful place to live.

SAFE AND ACCESSIBLE COMMUNITIES Ensuring all resi SAFE AND ACCESSIBLE COMMUNITIES

Ensuring all residents feel safe in their neighborhoods, whether in their home or when commuting, continues to be a priority of mine. During my second year on Council, I supported the approval of the Integrated Mobility Plan. This initiative continues to help make active transportation, transit, and roadways safe and sustainable for all users.

Ensuring residents of all abilities and ages can access mobility options means that we must continue to invest in our transportation network. We cannot lose sight of how our current infrastructure affects those who walk, bike and use mobility aids such as wheelchairs.

Ensuring residents feel safe in their neighbourhood also means that our policing service is accountable to all community members including those who identify as Black, Indigenous or a person of color.
